Morocco Faces Tough Test Against Cape Verde in Friendly Match, Coach Warns

The Moroccan team faces Cape Verde this Monday, June 12 at 8 pm at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Sports Complex in Rabat. National coach Walid Regragui assures that his team will approach this friendly match with the same state of mind as in the previous matches, but warns, however, that the match will be difficult.

During the press conference held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé, Regragui specified that the match will not be a small matter, acknowledging the skills of the Cape Verde team, particularly their last confrontation which had resulted in a draw. He does, however, emphasize the confidence he places in his team, but warns that the same physical and mental level must be maintained to secure the victory.

Regragui also highlighted the importance of this match for his team, one of the best in Africa at the moment. Morocco is designated as one of the favorites for the next Africa Cup of Nations, a prospect that the coach intends to materialize by forming a solid squad.

This friendly match is a preparatory step for the official match against South Africa on June 17 in Johannesburg, as part of the qualifiers for the 2023 CAN Côte d’Ivoire. For these two occasions, Regragui has called up twenty-eight players, including goalkeepers such as Yassine Bounou and Munir El Kajoui, defenders such as Achraf Hakimi and Nayef Aguerd, midfielders such as Oussama Idrissi and Sofyan Amrabat, as well as forwards such as Zakaria Aboukhlal and Youssef En-Nesyri.

Remember that the match will be broadcast live tonight on Arryadia and L’Equipe TV at 8pm (Morocco) and 9pm (Europe)
