Morocco Faces Tanzania in Crucial World Cup Qualifier

After narrowly beating Niger (2-1), the Atlas Lions will face Tanzania tonight as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. A decisive match for Walid Regragui’s protégés.
Morocco will cross swords with Tanzania, who also have six points, tied with Niger. The match will take place at the Honor Complex in the city of Oujda, starting at 9:30 pm. The Atlas Lions must work to restore confidence within the group and reassure a public always concerned as the 2025 CAN approaches. They need to secure a fifth consecutive victory, which would bring them even closer to the 2026 World Cup in the United States.
However, this possible qualification for the next World Cup also depends on the final decision of FIFA regarding the Congolese Federation (Fecofoot), suspended for government interference. Morocco had obtained a large victory over the Red Devils (6-0), pocketing three points that could be canceled in case of definitive exclusion of Congo. In addition, the qualification of the Atlas Lions should be official in September, after the matches against Niger and Zambia.
In the meantime, see you tonight at the Honor Complex in the city of Oujda, for a big match. The match will be broadcast live on beIN Sports. It can also be followed live on FIFA+, but also on L’Équipe Live for subscribers to the various boxes (Free, Orange, or Bouygues Telecom).
