Morocco Faces Delays in Approving Real Estate Projects Near Airports

MP Mohamed Larbi Merabet questioned the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil, about the delay in the processing by the National Airports Office (ONDA) of the files of real estate projects located near airports.
The parliamentarian asked what measures the minister intends to take to allow the National Airports Office (ONDA) to give its opinion on real estate projects located near airports within a reasonable time.
In response, the minister said he was unaware of this problem, specifying that 25 files of real estate projects had been processed as part of the extension of the runway of Tetouan airport. Mohamed Abdeljalil added that his department had processed these files and forwarded its opinion to the real estate developers within 35 days.
The delay in processing these files penalizes real estate developers and citizens who have real estate projects in the Tetouan and Martil airport area, denounces MP Merabet, stressing that the latter find themselves waiting for ONDA’s opinion for more than three months.
The parliamentarian hopes that the arrival of Adel Fakir at the head of ONDA will inject new momentum into the Office and promote the diligent processing of real estate developers’ files.
