Morocco Extends Third Round of COVID-19 Aid to Informal Sector Workers

On July 18, households in the informal sector who have ceased all activity due to the lockdown will be able to start receiving the third installment of the exceptional aid granted to them. The announcement was made on Monday by the Economic Monitoring Committee (CVE).
The process will be the same as for the previous installments, indicates the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform in a press release. The head of household who has already benefited from the first two installments must send his CNIE number by SMS to 1212.
These declarations must be made between Wednesday, July 15 at 8 a.m. and Friday, July 17 at 12 a.m. The ministry specifies that "the message must be sent obligatorily from the same telephone number as the one used for the previous operations".
Furthermore, the ministry indicates that "checks will be carried out by the competent services" to ensure that the beneficiary of this aid has really lost his sources of income due to the lockdown. "Any false declaration is punishable by prosecution and the sums unduly paid will have to be reimbursed," specifies the same source.
