Morocco Exports 18.5 Million Protective Masks Globally, France Top Recipient

In total, 69 Moroccan textile companies have exported nearly 18.5 million units of protective masks to 11 countries spread over the four continents.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Green Economy and Digital, this figure concerns the period from May 21, 2020, the date of authorization to export masks, until June 8 last.
77% of these exports represent woven fabrics, and 23% non-woven fabrics. The export mainly concerns Europe, with 33.6% of exports to France, followed by 28.5% to Portugal, then 14.6% to Spain. Other countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia have also imported protective masks manufactured in Morocco.
According to the words of the minister reported by La Map, the export of protective masks represents both a sign of confidence in the certified quality of the Moroccan product, and a strong development opportunity for the textile industry.
