The Directorate General of Local Authorities (DGCL) has decided to extend the Watiqa.ma platform to all the communes of the kingdom.

An important project in the digitalization and dematerialization of the public administration, the civil status platform, Watiqa.ma, was the subject, on April 9, 2020, of the signing of a protocol between the Ministry of the Interior, the TGR, the ADD and Barid Al Maghrib.

Following the signing of this protocol, a circular on the generalization of the platform and the conditions of adherence was sent to the Walis of the regions and the governors of the prefectures, provinces and district prefectures.

The department noted, in the same circular, the key role of the civil status inspector at the level of each province and prefecture, particularly in terms of coordination, monitoring of citizens’ requests and relaying the central administration, as well as that of the Civil Status Officer, as a central element at the level of each commune.

Thus, the Walis of the regions and the governors of the prefectures, provinces and district prefectures are invited to support the communes under their respective commands so that they adhere to the platform, no later than May 15, 2020. To this end, they are required to send two reports to the Wali Director General of the DGCL, Khalid Safir. The first report should reach him before Friday, May 22, 2020, and the second before Friday, June 5. In this report, they are recommended to report on the difficulties, observations and proposals related to this project.
