Morocco Expands COVID-19 Vaccination to 45-50 Age Group as New Doses Arrive

The Ministry of Health announced on Sunday, May 16, that the vaccination campaign is being extended to people aged between 45 and 50 years old. A decision that comes just after Morocco received 650,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine as part of the Covax program.
The Ministry of Health has decided to make these received doses available to Moroccans aged 45 and over. This arrival should give a new boost to this vaccination campaign. The number of beneficiaries of the first dose of the anti-Covid vaccine as of May 17 reached 6,458,947 people against 4,542,426 fully vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health calls on all citizens of the target groups to continue to play their part so that Morocco can reach collective immunity. They are called upon to send an SMS to the toll-free number 1717 or via the online portal www.liqahcorona.ma to obtain the date and place of vaccination.
The evolution of the national vaccination campaign should not serve as a pretext to relax the efforts in observing preventive measures to contribute to the efforts to fight the spread of the virus.
