Morocco Expands COVID-19 Reporting with Weekly Detailed Updates

The Ministry of Health no longer wants to give the impression of hiding information on the management of the coronavirus. In addition to the daily press conference, there will also be a detailed weekly statement on the epidemiological situation of the country, as well as awareness-raising around the disease.
This decision, which contributes to strengthening communication on the evolution of the epidemic, comes to reassure Moroccans who, since the reappearance of infection clusters, have stated that there are unspoken elements in the management of the disease. All communication channels, especially television channels, will be used.
The daily press conference will now be presented in turn by the members of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations (CNOUSP). It will provide "updated data on the epidemiological situation in Morocco within 24 hours, as well as in the regions and cities where new confirmed cases or epidemic outbreaks are recorded." This information will be available daily on the ministry’s official Facebook page, its official YouTube channel, official television channels, and on the Map.
As for the weekly statement, it will focus on "the curves of the evolution of the epidemic in Morocco in terms of new confirmed cases, excluded or hospitalized cases, in addition to cases of recovery and death and the nature of the detected outbreaks." It will also be a channel for raising awareness about the virus and "the preventive measures to be observed during this period in order to curb its spread.
