Morocco’s COVID-19 Cases Near 4,000 as Death Toll Rises to 158

The coronavirus toll has further increased in Morocco. 190 new cases have been confirmed by the Ministry of Health. This brings the total of people tested positive to 3,798.
To date, 158 people have already died from the coronavirus, against 486 cases of recovery, said Mohamed El Youbi, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control at the Ministry of Health.
Furthermore, the number of cases excluded after negative analysis results carried out in the laboratory is estimated at 20,175. Of all the new cases, 163 contaminations were also reported at the level of epidemic outbreaks (85%), the Ministry of Health said.
To try to curb this epidemic, the Moroccan authorities have put in place several very restrictive measures, including the state of health emergency, outings in case of absolute necessity and since today, the 1st day of Ramadan, a curfew from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
