Some 14 individuals were arrested by the judicial police in Salé, Témara, Agadir, Oujda and Meknès during the month of June for their alleged involvement in cases of trafficking in high-tech electronic materials and tools used for the purpose of cheating on baccalaureate exams.

The operations carried out by the judicial police services made it possible to arrest 7 individuals in Salé, 6 others in the cities of Témara, Oujda and Agadir, and one other in Meknès, suspected of being involved in the sale of electronic chips for receiving telephone calls via a latest generation earpiece, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).

After the search of the defendants’ homes, 345 electronic chips, about ten earphones, batteries and chargers, computers and mobile phones were seized, the DGSN said, adding that these ongoing operations across the country aim to ensure the normal conduct of school exams and to fight against the trafficking of fraud materials.
