Morocco Cracks Down on Exam Cheating: Over 1,000 Baccalaureate Candidates Caught

Several hundred candidates for the 2020 baccalaureate exam were arrested for cheating during the first exam session.
1,100 cases of fraud for the July 2020 Baccalaureate exam, which is only in its first stage. This is the announcement made by the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF). Of the 1,100 cases, 138 were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region. As every year, this stage saw the implementation of provisions relating to the repression of exam fraud. This made it possible to uncover, in all regions of Morocco, 1,100 cases of cheating established in the reports that will later be submitted to the regional commissions in order to take the appropriate disciplinary measures. This is what Saïd Amzazi, Minister of National Education, said.
The second stage of the Baccalaureate will focus on the scientific-technical and vocational education branches and will be held until July 9. This stage will be carried out in strict compliance with preventive measures.
It should be noted that in the first few days of the first phase of the 2020 Baccalaureate devoted to the literary branches, 80% of the candidates were present.
