Moroccan Police Arrest Man for High-Tech Exam Cheating Scheme Using Drones

A 25-year-old was apprehended last Friday by elements of the prefectural service in Agadir for possession and trafficking of high-tech devices used in baccalaureate exam fraud.

According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security, the individual was traveling in his vehicle in the suburbs of Agadir when he was arrested by a police patrol. He had in his possession several smuggled electronic equipment, including remote communication devices.

A search of his business premises led to the seizure of a large quantity of sophisticated electronic devices, the statement notes, including 101 wireless earphones, 164 wireless communication systems, small batteries, SIM cards, and two drones.

A judicial investigation, conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, was opened by the prefectural services of the city to determine the origin of the goods and any possible ramifications of the network.

With the new vigilance measures put in place by the Ministry of National Education, the old cheat sheets are having a hard time finding their place in the baccalaureate exams. The use of new technologies makes the task more difficult for the supervisors.
