Morocco Enters Top 5 African Countries Hit Hardest by COVID-19

Morocco is now in the top 5 African countries most affected by the coronavirus.
In Morocco, the official Covid-19 report (as of August 15) shows 41,017 cases of contamination, 28,566 recoveries and 632 deaths. With this number of infections, Morocco sadly surpasses Algeria (38,133 cases), is behind Ghana (42,015 cases), Nigeria (48,116), Egypt (96,253 cases), and South Africa (576,811 cases), according to Challenge.ma. However, the kingdom has recorded fewer deaths than Algeria (1,349 deaths).
The kingdom’s ranking in the top 5 African countries most affected by Covid-19 is tarnishing its image. Moreover, Switzerland has decided to close its borders to 160 countries, including Morocco, considered at risk due to their epidemiological situation.
