Morocco: End of the game for a big drug baron

A spectacular chase has put an end to the flight of an individual actively sought by the justice system. The anti-gang brigade of Nador arrested, during the night of Friday, the one called "Ould Aïssa", seizing in the process significant quantities of narcotics and a vehicle registered abroad.

This intervention has confirmed the suspicions weighing on the individual, who was the subject of a national wanted notice. The thorough search revealed the possession of 70 grams of cocaine, 60 hallucinogenic tablets and four mobile phones, elements that corroborate the theory of involvement in drug trafficking.

The investigators also got their hands on an electronic scale, a typical tool for retail sales, as well as a sum of 1,900 dirhams suspected to come from illicit transactions. The suspect was driving a Mitsubishi registered abroad, a similar vehicle to the one intercepted during a separate operation carried out a few days earlier.

This arrest is part of a broader offensive deployed by the Nador police services to curb drug trafficking and clandestine migration networks. The investigations are now continuing to identify the ramifications of this potential network. The authorities’ objective is to trace back the supply chain, both in terms of supply and distribution, in order to bring all the accomplices to justice.
