Morocco Emerges as New Hotspot for Russian Tourists, Visitor Numbers Soar 70%

The number of Russian travelers who have already visited Morocco this year has increased by 70% compared to last year, according to Aviasales, one of Russia’s largest online travel agencies.
The rise in ticket prices in Antalya and Marmaris has forced many Russian tourists to turn to destinations like Morocco.
As a result, new direct flights between Moscow, St. Petersburg and Moroccan cities like Marrakech and Casablanca have been launched, strengthening the Moroccan tourism sector. Hotels, riads and restaurants are experiencing a strong increase in demand, and some are offering customized services for Russian visitors.
In 2024, Morocco welcomed 17.4 million international tourists. The city of Marrakech alone attracted nearly four million tourists, confirming its status as a global tourist destination.
