Morocco Edges Iran in Thrilling Overtime to Claim Bangkok Futsal Tournament Title

The Atlas Lions quickly took the lead with a two-goal advantage. Despite Iran’s pressure, the score remained unchanged until the end of the first half. In the second half, Morocco’s opponents maintained the pressure until they equalized. The match was relaunched but the Atlas Lions were saved by a penalty before the Iranians equalized in the last seconds of the match. The match was relaunched again.

It took extra time for Morocco to overcome Iran and win the Bangkok International Futsal Tournament.

Youssef Jouad, author of a brace, Khalid Bouzid Ismail and Ouadouh were the scorers of the winning goals for the National Team.

Before winning the title, the Moroccans had defeated the host country 2-2, Mozambique 4-2 and finally Finland 4-1 in the semi-finals.
