Morocco doctor suspended 3000 dirhams corruption allegations
The Ministry of Health has temporarily suspended a gastroenterologist from the Moulay Ali Cherif Regional Hospital in Errachidia. This decision follows a complaint for alleged corruption amounting to 3,000 dirhams concerning a surgical procedure.
The case erupts when a woman and her sick husband file a complaint with the regional Health directorate of Drâa-Tafilalet. They accuse the specialist of having demanded the sum of 3,000 dirhams in exchange for a referral to a private clinic to perform surgical surgery there. To support these allegations, the complainant provided audio recordings directly attributed to the doctor in question. These audio elements constitute a cornerstone of current preliminary investigations, forcing the administration to react quickly.

Faced with these serious accusations, an administrative commission went on site to inspect documents, verify the establishment’s records and hear the various parties involved. Pending the detailed report and final conclusions, the ministry issued a preventive suspension of the practitioner. This standard precautionary measure aims to facilitate the proper conduct of the investigation, while respecting the strict principle of the presumption of innocence until the competent authorities make a final decision.
