Morocco Digitalizes Passport Tax Stamps, Streamlining Application Process

The Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Economy and Finance have just announced the dematerialization of the tax stamp for passports from January 1st next.
Thus, the stamp order will now be done electronically on the website of the Directorate General of Taxes, at the address www.tax.gov.ma, it is indicated in a press release.
For citizens wishing to obtain or renew their passport, they will have to pay the amount directly by bank card on the portal of the Directorate General of Taxes or at bank branches and various payment providers, it is specified.
They will then receive by SMS a 16-digit code that they will have to use to complete the passport application form on the website www.passeport.ma, the press release explains, according to which "dematerialization initiatives will continue in order to allow citizens, in the near future, to make their passport renewal requests remotely".
