The increase that took effect overnight from Saturday to Sunday ranges from 50 centimes to one dirham per litre, depending on the brand. Médias24 reports an indicative price of 16.90 dirhams for diesel, compared with around 15.50 dirhams for unleaded petrol, which has edged down slightly.

Other displayed prices are noticeably different. At one station, regular diesel is priced at 16.30 dirhams and regular petrol at 15.65 dirhams. Premium diesel is offered there at 16.75 dirhams, and premium petrol at 16.35 dirhams.

A comparison with October shows the scale of the reversal. On October 15, Bladi.net reported diesel prices of between 16.10 and 16.18 dirhams in Casablanca, before a 20-centime cut was announced. Two weeks later, that reduction has been wiped out at stations affected by the latest increases.

Price differences puzzle service stations

Industry professionals are particularly puzzled by the differences between distributors. According to information gathered from their federation, one major operator was planning a 50-centime increase, while another announced a rise of nearly one dirham. Some managers are wondering whether there was an error in the new price schedules and are waiting for possible corrections.

The drop in petrol prices also varies by brand, with announced cuts ranging from 10 to 50 centimes per litre. Diesel, meanwhile, has continued to rise since the start of summer. In early July, its price had fallen to around 12.61 dirhams at several stations in Casablanca.
