Moroccan Drivers Reel as Fuel Prices Skyrocket Despite Global Oil Slump

Fuel prices have recorded a new increase at the pump in Morocco since July 1, 2025.
In downtown Casablanca this Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the price of gasoline has increased by 29 cents per liter, while the price of a liter of diesel has increased by 41 cents, as observed by Le360.
Thus, in the Afriquia and Shell service stations in the city center of the economic capital of the kingdom, the liter of diesel was set at 10.98 dirhams, compared to 10.95 dirhams at Winxo. As for gasoline, the price per liter is sold at 12.94 dirhams at Afriquia and Shell and at 12.91 dirhams at Winxo.
This new increase comes in a context marked by the truce between Iran and Israel, leading to a drop in the price of a barrel to $65.
Furthermore, the Competition Council is preparing to publish a report on the net margins of distributors, based on the financial results for the 2024 fiscal year, a document that will make it possible to assess the profits made by the operators.
