Moroccan roads will be equipped in the coming months with new radars in order to reduce traffic accidents. These devices, produced by a German company, deserve to be better known...

With the possibility of controlling road traffic at a height of at least three meters, more than 500 laser cameras, each equipped with a speed control system, average speed, and traffic lights at their various intersections. The sophisticated equipment which, in a few months, will provide visibility on everything that happens on the Moroccan roads built in the twelve regions of the country, not to mention that the installation and maintenance of the software to be used to process and manage the data collected will be guaranteed.

The specifications will be executed by a consortium made up of a German company and another Moroccan: "Vitronic" and "Al Omra". It was declared the successful bidder for the contract on October 18, 2018, following a call for tenders launched by the Ministry of Equipment and Transport, reports the site Traffictechnologytoday cited by the360. It is up to him to ensure the maintenance of the installed equipment for three years, which requires him to create and equip four appropriate centers for this mission, which will be distributed throughout the Moroccan territory.

In reality, the government’s vision linked to this project is to reduce, if only by half, accidents on the roads of the kingdom over the next seven years, which does not prevent the consortium executing the contract from fulfilling its part of the contract over the next two years, especially since a heavier challenge awaits it by 2024: to bring the much-needed radars to 1,500!
