Morocco Deploys 140 High-Tech Speed Radars to Boost Urban Road Safety

The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) announced on Monday on its Twitter account the acquisition of 140 new high-resolution radars for speed control in urban areas.
Faced with the extent of the accidents that have occurred on the road network, the DGSN does not intend to lower its guard. This is what justifies the announcement made on its Twitter account on Monday, which provides for the reinforcement of police officers and traffic with at least 140 new high-precision radars.
This year, Morocco plans to install at least 500 fixed radars throughout the territory. The announcement had been made by the public prosecutor’s office during the national public security day.
On February 18, the department of Mohamed Abdennaoui had also reported the number of offenses committed on Moroccan roads in 2018, which amounted to just under 1.5 million, which means that they will increase significantly with the commissioning of these new radars.
