Morocco Cracks Down on Noisy Wedding Venues to Curb Late-Night Disturbances

Tetouan wants to restore order and respect for public health laws in party and wedding halls. The residents of Nador are waiting for the local authorities on this project.
Order in party and wedding halls. In a reminder message addressed to all owners of party and wedding halls, the municipality of Tetouan insists on the need to respect Article 100 of the regulation relating to local authorities, which governs the operation of establishments that are harmful to health, noisy and dangerous, but also on the importance of complying with the correspondence of the governor of the province concerning the regulation of the use of loudspeakers at night, inside and outside party and wedding halls. The use of loudspeakers must stop from 1 a.m. from March 22 to September 23, and from midnight from September 24 to March 21, specifies the municipality. Similarly, the use of firecrackers inside or outside party and wedding halls is strictly prohibited.
The owners are invited to put in place the required health and prevention conditions, but also to take the necessary precautions not to impede traffic in the city streets and not to disturb the neighborhood by using noise-generating equipment outside the halls. The municipality also requires all party hall managers to sign an agreement between the hall owner and the beneficiary of the hall’s services. The latter must undertake to respect these conditions and to comply with the laws in force. Otherwise, any violation of these provisions would expose the hall owner to the application of the legal sanctions provided for.
