Morocco Cracks Down on COVID-19 Document Fraud, Tightens Penalties

Faced with the trafficking in Morocco and abroad of fake health documents related to Covid-19, including PCR certificates and vaccination passes, the Moroccan authorities have taken drastic measures.
Beware of Covid-19 vaccination scammers! On Tuesday, the officials in charge of security and health toughened their stance against the fraudulent use of PCR certificates and vaccination passes in the kingdom.
Instituted by the Ministry of the Interior, these measures allow for prosecution against the fraudulent use of PCR certificates and vaccination passes in the kingdom.
This toughening is reflected in criminal proceedings, indicates a press release issued after a high-level meeting, adding that these actions are of a criminal nature threatening the health and lives of citizens and compromising the national vaccination campaign, which is progressing satisfactorily.
Also, Morocco will now be accessible to people holding a health pass for countries that have this document and for other countries, a vaccination pass or a negative PCR test less than 48 hours old in accordance with the current protocol.
Finally, it was decided to strengthen controls at boarding and arrival in the Kingdom and to prosecute any person in possession of a falsified health document or involved in its falsification.
