Moroccan Court Convicts Salafists and Officials in COVID Vaccine Pass Fraud Scheme

The Court of First Instance of El Jadida has sentenced seven people, including two Salafists, a former convicted terrorist and an authority agent, for using fake vaccination passes.
The seven convicted persons obtained the vaccination passes without receiving a dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, reports Assabah. They paid money to an authority agent who provided them with the precious pass: 2,000 DH for a Pfizer-type vaccination pass, 1,000 DH for a Sinopharm-type vaccination pass and 1,500 DH for other vaccines.
To achieve this, the authority agent involved had access to passwords and hacked the computer system of the campaign led by the Ministry of Health and recorded the data of his clients. This is how he managed to meet the demand of his "clients", who benefit from a real vaccination pass to access administrations and travel within the kingdom or abroad.
Since October 21, 2021, the vaccination pass has become mandatory throughout Morocco to access enclosed places, including hotels and tourist establishments, restaurants, cafes, shops, gyms, hammams and administrations. It also allows travel between the provinces of the kingdom.
