Morocco Expands Vaccine Pass Mandate for Public Spaces and Travel

As of this Thursday, the vaccine pass will be required to access public places, including administration and restaurants, and for travel within Morocco and abroad.
This new measure will affect the daily life of Moroccans. Already in force in leisure and cultural venues with more than 50 people, the vaccine pass will be generalized in almost all public places.
The decision approved by the government and the services monitoring the epidemiological situation, is to expand the scope of use of the vaccine pass, reports the MAP, citing a government statement. This pass will now be the only document approved by the health authorities, in accordance with the legal provisions relating to the management of the state of health emergency.
"As part of the strengthening of the positive development of the national vaccination campaign, while taking into account the gradual decrease in the number of coronavirus infections thanks to the measures taken by the public authorities, and in accordance with the recommendations of the scientific and technical committee, the government has decided to adopt, from Thursday, October 21, a new preventive approach, based on the vaccine pass, as a document approved by the health authorities and through a series of measures," it reads.
These measures, it is specified, concern the authorization of people to travel between prefectures and provinces, through private or public means of transport, provided they exclusively present the "vaccine pass". This pass is also mandatory as a travel document abroad.
Civil servants, employees and users of administrations are also required to provide the "vaccine pass" to access public, semi-public and private administrations, the same source adds, stressing that it is necessary to present this pass to access hotel and tourist establishments, restaurants, cafes, indoor spaces, shops, gyms and hammams.
