Morocco Contains Delta Variant Outbreaks in Casablanca and Kénitra

A short-lived victory for the monitoring team, the outbreaks of the Indian Delta variant, recorded in Casablanca and Kénitra, would have been brought under control. This, thanks to the proactivity of all the specialists and the Ministry of the Interior, who once again call for not letting down the barrier measures.
The announcement was made to the MAP by Moulay Said Afif, president of the national trade union college of private specialist doctors (CSNMSP) and member of the vaccination scientific committee, specifying that this important result was obtained thanks to a coordinated action involving officials from the Ministries of Health and the Interior.
In his statement, Mr. Afif indicated that the Sinopharm and AstraZeneca vaccines adopted in Morocco are effective against the new variants of the coronavirus. However, it is necessary to continue to scrupulously respect the preventive measures in force and to accelerate the vaccination operation to reach collective immunity, he stressed.
Furthermore, the official said that thanks to the royal intervention with Sinopharm and AstraZeneca, Morocco has successfully completed its targeted vaccination phase before generalizing it to all citizens.
This personal involvement of the Moroccan sovereign has first made it possible to reduce the number of deaths and then that of contamination cases among the elderly and those suffering from chronic diseases and critical cases, rejoiced Mr. Afif.
