Morocco Coach Regragui Defends Hamdallah’s National Team Role Despite Criticism

Since his return to the national team, Moroccan international Abderrazak Hamdallah has been the subject of criticism. Some blame him for being more productive in his club than with the national team.
Walid Regragui does not share this view. During the press conference held in Madrid as part of the match opposing Morocco to Peru, the coach returned to the reasons why he called back the Moroccan striker. "It’s me who brought Hamdallah and I know when to put him in the game or not. I called him up because I believe in him. He quickly integrated with the group and that’s why I appreciate him."
For Walid Regragui, all the players called up for the World Cup or for the current gathering are important, endowed with a certain talent. "Hamdallah is a surface striker. I called him up because he has been able to maintain a good momentum with his club Ittihad Jeddah. He should be ready when I need him. And he must be aware of it."
