Morocco Coach Regragui to Break Silence in First Post-AFCON Interview

Walid Regragui, the coach of the Moroccan national team, will make his first media appearance since the disappointment of the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The announcement was made by the "Arryadia" channel on Wednesday. The interview will be broadcast on Friday at 10:30 pm as part of a special program dedicated to the 2023 AFCON.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has recently renewed its confidence in Regragui by giving him full support to lead the national team towards better results. The President of the FRMF, Fouzi Lekjaa, has held several evaluation meetings with Regragui to analyze Morocco’s participation in the AFCON.
The discussions focused on the different preparation phases, the results obtained and the elimination in the round of 16, which caused great disappointment among the Moroccan public.
The weaknesses of the team, particularly during the match against South Africa, have also been identified. Lekjaa reaffirmed the need to continue the work and redouble efforts so that the national team and Moroccan football regain the place they deserve. The main objective is to please Moroccan supporters in the next competitions, starting with the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the preparation for the 2025 AFCON that Morocco will host.
