Morocco Coach Regragui Scouts European Talent Amid Striker Controversy

Walid Regragui, the coach of the Moroccan national team, will embark on a European tour to prepare the list of players who must participate in the Atlas Lions’ next matches next month.
Among the observed players, Ryan Mmaee, the striker of Stoke City, was one of Regragui’s targets, but following an altercation with his coach, the Moroccan international has been sidelined from the first team for nearly three weeks. This setback comes as the national coach is looking for new talents to strengthen the Moroccan national team, particularly after the disappointing results at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ryan Mmaee had shone with the Moroccan national team during the qualifications for the 2022 World Cup, under the leadership of former coach Vahid Halilhodžić. Forming an effective offensive duo with Ayoub El Kaabi, Mmaee had joined Stoke City from the Hungarian club Ferencváros at the start of the season. He had then been excluded from the Moroccan team just before the World Cup. He had also expressed his dismay in messages published on social media.
