Walid Regragui’s promise to Moroccans

National coach Walid Regragui apologized to the Moroccan people after the early elimination of the Moroccan team in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, promising to work hard to "come back stronger" in the next matches.
In an interview with the Arryadia channel, Walid Regragui confided that French coach Arsène Wenger had warned him of the consequences of the Atlas Lions’ epic at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. "Wenger warned me in Doha of the difficulties I would face if I did not win the Africa Cup of Nations after the exploit of the World Cup in Qatar," he said.
The Moroccan technician says that Wenger "was right" and that he "accepts and understands the criticism". Regragui then apologized to Moroccan supporters. "I ask the Moroccan public to forgive us for this elimination. We will work to make up for the disappointment in the next matches. Everyone was disappointed... players, technical and administrative staff, and none of us accepted the premature elimination," he said.
He continued: "We will work to rebuild the national team and we will fight to make the Moroccan public happy in the future. It’s football, sometimes we win and sometimes we lose, the important thing is to learn from our mistakes and come back stronger."
