Will Walid Regragui Revolutionize the Moroccan Team?

The coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid Regragui, has mentioned the possibility of changes within the technical staff and the list of players after the early elimination of the national team from the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).
Regragui, in a television interview on the Arryadia channel, declared: "It is possible that we make some changes, whether in the human composition of the players or in terms of the technical staff, because it is important, in the face of negative results, to review our mistakes in order to improve the level of the Moroccan national team in the near future."
The coach acknowledged that the team did not live up to expectations and called for lessons to be learned from this experience. "We must get up from this tournament and learn for future competitions and be positive and improve our level for the future. When you lose, you cannot be satisfied with the performance and you cannot convince the Moroccans that we have provided a high level in this tournament," he said.
Regragui analyzed the reasons for the failure, highlighting the lack of offensive efficiency and defensive errors. "We almost dominated all our matches in the Africa Cup, and offensively, we were the best against all opponents, but efficiency and efficiency are among the reasons for this elimination, which we must improve. On the other hand, defensively, we were not at our best," he explained.
The coach also mentioned the difference in performance between players in their clubs and the national team. "There is a big difference between national teams and clubs and we cannot link what Moroccan players do with their clubs compared to what they have presented with the Moroccan national team," he stressed.
Regragui also announced his intention to meet with players to refresh the national team roster and prepare for the next deadlines. "I will make a European tour to meet some players in order to refresh the Moroccan national team roster in addition to preparing for the African qualifiers for the World Cup," he said.
Finally, Regragui congratulated Côte d’Ivoire on their title and called for luck for Morocco in the next competitions. "Football is like life and requires a bit of luck. Côte d’Ivoire lived through two Africa Cups in a single tournament and came back from elimination thanks to their mental strength and the Ivorian supporters played a big role in the Elephants’ achievement. The minor details are important in this type of continental tournament and we were the ones who wanted to carry the Moroccan flag to the final, but we did not have luck," he concluded.
