Morocco's Coach Regragui Aims for World Cup Round of 16 with Adaptive Strategy

To qualify for the round of 16 of the World Cup this Thursday, the national coach Walid Regragui is counting on the qualities of his players and their ability to adapt to his game plan.

The good performance achieved so far by the Atlas Lions at the World Cup has aroused the interest of the newspaper Le Monde, which has devoted an article to the team and its coach. Entitled "Walid Regragui, the signature of the Atlas Lions", the publication has revealed Morocco’s ambitions in this competition and especially the strategy of its coach to pass the first round.

In three months, Walid Regragui has hardly had time to take the pulse of his team, wrote the author of the article, noting that the recent winner of the African Champions League, with Wydad, of Casablanca, has set to work, without however renouncing the legacy of the Franco-Bosnian technician, Vahid Halihodzic.

According to the French daily, the 47-year-old Moroccan technician does not want to be satisfied with the victory snatched on Sunday, against Belgium. Morocco faces Canada today at 5pm, in a decisive match, counting for the 3rd and last group match of the competition. The coach aims to repeat the feat, by securing his qualification for the round of 16.

The publication also cited Senegalese coach Aliou Cissé, who said the Moroccans are a "source of inspiration" for African football. The Atlas Lions must imperatively hold this rank to secure their qualification for the second round, writes the newspaper.
