Morocco Coach Halilhodzic Optimistic After CAN 2022 Draw, Calls for Preparation
It is on the official website of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) that Vahid Halilhodžić gave his opinion on the draw made in Yaoundé, at the end of which the Atlas Lions inherited group C composed of Ghana, Gabon and the Comoros.
The national team coach considers the draw quite favorable for his protégés, even though he points out that the players will have to work harder to overcome their opponents who are great football nations. "The matches seem accessible, but we have to prepare well," he said on the FRMF’s official website, before adding: "We know our three opponents. Ghana, a great nation, then Gabon, who beat us in a friendly match, and the Comoros with their historic qualification."
However, the coach remains convinced that Morocco and Ghana are the two favorites of this CAN edition. "We will give our best to qualify for the second round, but the main thing is to go as far as possible in this competition."
