Morocco Coach Halilhodzic Calls Up Local CHAN Stars for World Cup Qualifiers

Unable to have the Moroccan internationals available, coach Vahid Halilhodzic will have to make do with local players, those who worked for Morocco’s victory in the 2021 CHAN final. They will be called up to face Mauritania on March 26 and Burundi on March 30.
Vahid Halilhodzic’s list could be available this weekend, in order to be transmitted to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) which will be responsible for informing the clubs where the selected players who mostly participated in the 2021 CHAN are playing. According to the daily Al Akhbar, this list includes players such as Soufiane Rahimi, Anas Zniti, Abdelilah Hafidi (Raja), Ayoub El Kaâbi, Yahya Jabrane (Wydad), Hicham El Majhad (Ittihad de Tanger), and others that Vahid will follow in Botola this weekend.
Even if the coach believes that the Botola players lack consistency, it is the only option available to him, since in addition to the internationals blocked by their clubs due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there are those who have lost their starting position and others who are injured.
In any case, it is an opportunity for the players who will be called up to prove that they have their place within the Atlas Lions.
