Inter Milan Blocks Achraf Hakimi from Morocco Duty Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi will not be able to respond to coach Vahid Halilhodzic’s call, as part of the 2021 CAN qualifiers. Inter Milan has just banned him from traveling, due to two Covid-19 infection cases detected within the team.
Vahid Halilhodzic knew he would have to do without certain international players, but still had a glimmer of hope that has just been dashed by Inter Milan’s statement, which mentions Achraf Hakimi’s inability to travel to join his teammates in Morocco. Two cases of coronavirus would have been detected within the Italian team. They are Stefan de Vrij and Matias Vecino.
In addition to Achraf Hakimi, the coach of the Moroccan national football team will have to do without Nayef Aguerd from Stade Rennais. In a statement, the Professional Football League (LFP) announced that "the players of the African selections playing in the L1 and L2 championships in France will not participate in the international matches at the end of the month".
Vahid Halilhodzic has to revise his list, give a chance to those who have not been called up and who still have the potential to do the job. This is the case of Badr Banoun, whose non-selection has raised many questions.
