Morocco Climbs to 41st in FIFA Rankings Despite Early CAN Exit

Eliminated prematurely from the 2019 CAN in the round of 16, the Moroccan national football team has nevertheless made a leap of six places in the FIFA ranking. From 47th place, Morocco is now in 41st place, behind Algeria.
The "Atlas Lions", eliminated in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) by the Benin Squirrels, have nevertheless made a leap of six places in the FIFA ranking.
Morocco is now in 41st place, just behind its neighbor Algeria (40th), and ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina (42nd). The Kingdom benefits from this positioning thanks to its three group stage wins and leaves the 47th place. As for Algeria, it inherits the 40th place and enters the top 40, thanks to a formidable leap of 28 places. As for Senegal, the finalist, it is now in the top 20, i.e. two places gained. It is galloping in this position while remaining in the unchanged world trio, Senegal-Tunisia-Nigeria (20th, 29th, 33rd). Benin, who eliminated Morocco, slips to 82nd place, gaining six points.
