Morocco Christmas flights from France are 19% cheaper, study finds
Moroccans living in Europe could pay less for their plane tickets over the year-end holidays. A new study has found lower fares to several Moroccan cities, with prices down by as much as 19% from France and 26% from the United Kingdom.
Casablanca and Rabat top the list of destinations with the steepest price drops for Christmas 2026 holidays departing from France. According to data published on October 13 by travel search engine KAYAK, the average price of return tickets to the two cities fell by 19% compared with the same period last year.
This is welcome news for Moroccans in France planning to visit their families during the school holidays. Agadir and Marrakech are also among the Moroccan destinations where average fares have fallen. The study, reported on Tuesday by Euronews, puts Morocco among the countries seeing several price drops ahead of the holidays.
The biggest drop is for flights departing from the United Kingdom. Average fares to Agadir have fallen by 26% in a year. A return trip to the Moroccan seaside resort now costs an average of 208 pounds sterling, according to KAYAK’s UK data.
Your departure date could make a big difference to the cost
For families planning their trip, the timing could also make a significant difference. According to KAYAK, December 23 looks like a particularly good date for international departures from France, with average prices 38% lower than on December 19, the most expensive day of the period studied.
This price difference applies to all the international flights analyzed. It nevertheless offers an indication for Moroccan travelers who have some flexibility in their departure dates.
The travel search engine based its findings on searches made between April 1 and September 1, 2026, for trips scheduled from December 19, 2026, to January 9, 2027. Fares were compared with those recorded a year earlier for the equivalent Christmas holiday period.

Another finding from the study: Marrakech remains among the most searched-for destinations by travelers departing from France for the holidays. For international tickets, historical data also show that prices remained relatively stable from early October through the week before Christmas 2025, ranging from an average of 336 to 357 euros.
The fares presented by KAYAK are average prices based on searches for economy-class return tickets. Prices offered at the time of booking vary depending on dates, airlines and availability.
