Morocco Changes Hotels Ahead of CHAN 2020 Final, Citing COVID-19 Concerns

This Sunday, February 7, Morocco faces Mali in the final of CHAN 2020. On the eve of this decisive match, the coach of Morocco explained why his team opted to change hotels as soon as they arrived on Friday in the Cameroonian capital.
Upon arrival on Friday in the Cameroonian capital where they will play the final against Mali this Sunday, the Moroccan delegation refused to stay at the "La Falaise" Hotel, which had been booked for them by the local organizing committee of CHAN.
The coach of Morocco, Houcine Ammouta, during a press conference held on Saturday, explained the reasons that led the delegation to prefer another hotel, more modest than the five-star one made available to them by CAF.
"We decided to change hotels, to go to a small hotel, simply to limit the conditions of Covid-19 contamination. We saw that Congo suffered a lot from this. We are in a medium hotel, but very clean where we cross paths every 5 minutes. Unlike La Falaise where there is a lot of movement. I think we made the right choice to stay together in a small hotel," the coach specified.
Known to be a good tactician, Houcine Ammouta has no doubt taken advantage of a flaw in the Cameroonian organization to mobilize his team and protect them from any Covid-19 contamination.
