Morocco to Celebrate Prophet Mohammad’s Birthday on September 15

In Morocco, Aid Al Mawlid Annabaoui, the festival celebrating the birth of Prophet Mohammad, will be celebrated this September.
Astronomical calculations indicate that the conjunction (alignment of the sun, moon and Earth) will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 01:40 GMT. The sun will set around 7:38 pm in Rabat and around 8:12 pm in Dakhla. The age of the crescent should not exceed 17 hours in Dakhla, with a duration of 28 minutes and a height not exceeding 5 degrees above the horizon, according to the visibility forecasts of the new crescent established by Hassan Talibi, member of the Islamic Crescent Observation Project, cited by Médias24.
The new crescent of the month of Rabie Al Awal will only be visible on Saturday, September 16, corresponding to 30 Safar 1445, at a height of about 10 degrees above the horizon. Sunday, September 17 will thus be the 1st of Rabie Al Awal of the year 1445. Al Mawlid Annabaoui, corresponding to the 12th of Rabie Al Awal, will therefore be celebrated on Thursday, September 28, 2023.
