The national automotive market is gradually recovering, after a period of weakness linked to confinement. The latest statistics from the Association of Importers of Assembled Automotive Vehicles (Aivam) consulted show that in September, sales reached 14,300 units, up 11.31% compared to last year.
Despite this progress, since the beginning of 2020, sales remain in the red, down 26.41%. Part of the delay has therefore been made up, as the cumulative sales of new cars were down 43.3%.
Regarding market shares (MS), in the passenger car segment, at the end of September, Dacia dominates the ranking with a MS of 31.4%, followed by Renault in second position with a MS of 11.78%. The Korean brand Hyundai completes the list with 7.39%, then comes Peugeot as the fourth with a MS of 6.62%, followed by Volkswagen with 6.49%.
