Morocco Captain Saïss Honors Rayan with Jersey Tribute in Premier League Match

The tributes in memory of Rayan, who died after spending five days in a well, continue. After Tarik Tissoudali, it is Romain Saïss’s turn to honor the memory of the young boy, by printing his first name on the back of the collar of his jersey.
Like all Moroccans, the captain of the Atlas Lions was touched by Rayan’s death. His club, Wolverhampton, posted a photo on Twitter, showing the inscription Rayan, accompanied by the Moroccan flag. "Romain Saïss remembers Rayan Awram tonight, who tragically lost his life in Morocco this week," wrote the Premier League club before the defeat against Arsenal (0-1).
In the world of football, tributes have come from everywhere since the announcement of the death of the 5-year-old boy. There was a minute of silence during the 2021 AFCON final between Senegal and Egypt. Moroccan players Nayef Aguerd, Zakaria Aboukhlal and Tarik Tissoudali all lifted their shirts in memory of the little boy during matches with their respective clubs.
And what about Abderrazak Hamdallah who decided to offer a house to Rayan’s parents? Rayan’s parents will even be able to make their pilgrimage to Mecca thanks to a travel organizer in Saudi Arabia.
