Morocco Captain Saiss Apologizes After Shock AFCON Exit to South Africa

The captain of the Moroccan national team, Roman Saiss, apologized to Moroccans after their elimination in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations, a match lost 2-0 against South Africa.
The player expressed his disappointment and that of the team on Instagram, acknowledging the difficulty of describing their feelings following this defeat.
Saiss thanked the supporters for their constant encouragement, admitting that their support was essential, even if the team failed to achieve its objectives. Assuming responsibility for this failure, especially as captain, he emphasized the importance of remaining united and continuing to work hard to overcome this disappointment.
He expressed his confidence in the team, the staff and their ability to bounce back, promising to bring back the smiles of Moroccan fans. Saiss also encouraged his teammate Achraf Hakimi, who missed a penalty, by reminding him that failure is part of the game and that they remain united.
A tribute was also paid to Amine Adli for his strength despite the death of his mother before the tournament. "My brother players, you already know. Together no matter what. Another big thank you for your support. More than ever proud to be Moroccan," he concluded.
