Morocco’s Amine Adli Mourns Mother’s Death, National Team Offers Condolences

Amine Adli is struck by a huge misfortune. The Atlas Lions and Bayer Leverkusen striker has just lost his mother.
Hospitalized, Amine Adli’s mother has just passed away. After the announcement of her death, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and its president, Fouzi Lekjaa, offered their condolences to the Moroccan striker’s family. "The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) conveys on behalf of its President Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa and the members of the FRMF Executive Committee, as well as the members of the National Team "A", its sincere Condolences to the family members of the Moroccan international Amine Adli following the death of his mother. The FRMF expresses its compassion to the members and relatives of Amine Adli following this painful loss," the body wrote in a statement.
The national delegation is traveling to Côte d’Ivoire this Sunday, where the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) will be held from January 13 to February 11, 2024. Amine Adli should join his teammates after the burial of his mother. This is his first call-up for a major competition with Morocco, which he preferred to France, his country of birth.
Placed in Group F, the Atlas Lions will take the field on Wednesday, January 17. They will face Tanzania at the Laurent Pokou stadium in San Pedro, before playing a new match against the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday, January 21, always at the same stadium and finally Zambia on Wednesday, January 24. After reaching the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the goal of the Moroccan team is to win the next CAN. The Atlas Lions had won their first trophy in 1976.
