Bayer Leverkusen’s Amine Adli Switches Allegiance from France to Morocco National Team

Bayer Leverkusen striker Amine Adli, an U18 and then Espoirs international with the French team, explains his choice to opt for Morocco instead of the country of his birth, France.
"It’s a source of pride for me to play for the national team. I hope to honor this jersey as best I can and do great things," said the native of Béziers. Amine Adli is on the list of players that Morocco national team coach Walid Regragui has called up for the Atlas Lions’ next two matches, on September 9 in Agadir against Liberia for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers and on the 12th of the same month against Burkina Faso, in Lens, France, in a friendly.
The Bayer Leverkusen striker already expresses his optimism: "These are two very important matches, it will allow us to prepare, to get to know the group better. Two opportunities where we will try to win and I hope we will succeed. Everyone welcomed me very well, even the coach, the whole team is benevolent and so I am happy to be among the Atlas Lions." After reaching the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the goal of the Atlas Lions is to win the next Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held from January 13 to February 11, 2024 in Côte d’Ivoire. A title that Morocco had won for the first time in 1976.
