Morocco to Build Africa’s Largest Ice Hockey Rink in New Rabat Sports Complex

The Ministry of Sports will soon launch the construction of a new multi-purpose sports hall in Rabat, which will have a large ice hockey rink and other state-of-the-art facilities.
The future multi-purpose sports hall in Rabat will be built on an area of 16,190 m², of which 2,524 m² will be dedicated to the ice hockey rink, which will be the largest in Africa with an ice surface of 1,738 m², reports Le360.
The construction work on this jewel should last 18 months. The consultation for the realization of a first batch of nearly 246 million dirhams has already been launched by the National Agency for Public Facilities (ANEP), at the request of the Ministry of Sports.
The project management has been entrusted to the architectural firm Archi team Partners, the technical studies office Diagonale Management and the technical control office Socotec Maroc.
In addition to the large ice hockey rink, the Rabat multi-purpose sports hall will also have stands, cafeterias, refreshment bars, an infirmary..., as well as a reception hall, locker rooms, warm-up areas, a first aid room, an anti-doping control room and a storage room for equipment.
