Morocco Braces for Strong Winds and Thunderstorms Across Multiple Provinces
New weather alert in Morocco. Strong wind gusts are expected on Thursday and Friday in several provinces of the kingdom, warns the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN).
These disturbances will be recorded in the provinces of Midelt, Boulemane, Azilal, Al Haouz, Taroudant, Chichaoua, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Figuig, Jerada, Guercif, Taourirte, Oujda and Berkane, the DMN specifies. Fairly strong wind gusts (60 to 65 km/h) will locally affect the Atlantic coasts north of Agadir and the Mediterranean coast during the same validity period, the same source reports.
Locally moderate thunderstorms are expected in the High and Anti-Atlas mountains from Wednesday at 6pm to Thursday at 8am. The DMN warns that these showers will be accompanied by snowfall from 2,100m (10-40cm) in the provinces of Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Azilal, Tinghir and Midelt.
