Morocco Boosts Authority Agents’ Salaries: 2,000 Dirham Raise Coming August 2025

Good news for authority agents in Morocco. Their salaries will see an increase of up to 2,000 additional dirhams as of this August 2025.
The Moroccan government has decided to revalue the salaries of authority agents, from the caïd’s khalifa to the wali, with targeted increases for caïds and pachas. The measure takes effect as of this August 2025 and the beneficiaries will see an increase of up to 2,000 additional dirhams in their remuneration.
"The August pay slips have been transmitted to the Treasury General of the Kingdom in order to proceed with the payments. The beneficiaries should see these increases credited to their bank accounts by the end of the month. The most significant increases will affect the caïds and pachas, in recognition of the weight of their missions on the ground and their contribution to the management of major and sensitive issues, in particular the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2021 elections and the water scarcity crisis," indicate sources at Hespress.
This revaluation of the salaries of authority agents puts an end to a long period of stagnation. For the record, the government had validated the increase of 1,000 additional dirhams in the salaries of authority auxiliaries (mokaddems and chioukhs), particularly in rural areas. The measure will be applied in two stages: as of August 1, 2025, the chioukhs and mokaddems will respectively receive allowances of 4,500 and 4,000 dirhams, then a new revaluation of 5,000 and 4,500 dirhams in August 2026, it is specified.
Furthermore, the same sources inform that "the movement of transfers of authority agents will be frozen until 2028, after the organization of the next legislative and municipal elections." A new system of redeployment and reassignment will be put in place, under which any agent will remain in their position for at least three years before being eligible for a transfer, except in the case of disciplinary or corrective measures.
