Morocco Awaits CAN 2019 Draw: Atlas Lions to Learn Group Stage Opponents

There are only two days left before knowing the future opponents of the Moroccan national football team for the Africa Cup of Nations taking place this year in Egypt.
Indeed, it is in the context of this draw that several officials from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), including its president Fouzi Lekjaâ, will travel to Cairo to attend. The president will be accompanied by the Atlas Lions coach Hervé Renard and two of his assistants Patrice Baumelle and Mustapha Hadji.
It is at the end of this draw that Morocco will also know its opponents for the next friendly matches. The rumors mention sometimes advanced discussions for matches against Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria and many others, but nothing concrete for the moment.
Note that several Moroccan players, and not the least, are uncertain for this continental competition. We are talking about the absence of Achraf Hakimi who has just successfully undergone an operation in Madrid and which must keep him away from the field for several weeks. Youssef En-Nesyri is announced absent after an injury sustained during training with Morocco. Nordin Amrabat could also miss this competition, the player suffering for several weeks from pain that have kept him away from the Saudi championship.
Who says competition also says better preparation for the players. Thus, to better accommodate the preparation of the Moroccan players, the FRMF has decided to completely upgrade the sports complex of Maâmora.
