Morocco’s Auto Industry Soars: 30% Sales Surge Drives Record-Breaking Year

The year 2023 has been exceptional for the automotive industry in Morocco, with a 30.5% increase in sales reaching 116.38 billion dirhams by the end of October.
This momentum is driven by growth in the automotive construction, wiring, and vehicle interiors and seats sectors. Driven by this trend, 2024 looks promising, with Bank Al Maghrib anticipating a 5.8% consolidation of exports.
The "Made in Morocco" label is at the heart of the strategy to propel the national automotive sector, the MAP specifies, stating that Morocco has massively invested in infrastructure and training, thus fostering a competitive and attractive industry. This is the case, for example, of two new Moroccan brands.
The initiatives of Neo Motors and NamX, with their new vehicles, testify to Morocco’s desire to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, especially among young people. These projects are in line with the directives of King Mohammed VI aimed at stimulating productive investment and fostering the emergence of a new generation of companies in cutting-edge sectors. The delivery of the first Neo Motors vehicles, for example, marks a historic milestone in the Moroccan automotive industry.
Despite the challenges to be met, Morocco continues to demonstrate an exceptional ability to adapt to the rapid changes in the automotive industry market. This approach marks a significant step in the transition to a new era of industrial sovereignty and a continued commitment to quality, innovation and the promotion of the "Made in Morocco" label.
